My Grandparents moved their family of 8 to Page Arizona before there was a Page Arizona. They doubled the population of this remote local. There was no Glen Canyon Dam and no Lake Powell, there was only Black Brush and sand. Grandpa Johnny and Grandma Mary knew that the construction of Glen Canyon Dam would bring a town in it's wake, so they opened a gas station and waited like prospectors for the boom to happen. Eventually the town of Page grew around them and Grandpa Johnny's station became a fixture. My Dad and uncles checked fluides, air pressure, and filled tanks at the full service station that sold Water Dogs and Ice to the fisherman that were headed to the lake. They watched Powell slowly fill and become the gem it has become. I was born in '71 and my parents raised me in the emerald waters of Lake Powell. I have 3 brothers, 2 sisters, 4 nephews, 3 nieces, and 22 cousins and all of them love to spend time on the Lake. Captain Brian Woods
Born in Las Vegas, Nevada, I grew up fishing, playing, and getting my love for the water and outdoors on Lake Mead and the many streams in Utah. My family moved to Flagstaff, Arizona in 1984 where my love for the outdoors only grew stronger. After graduating high school, I went on to earn a bachelors degree at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. Through my years growing up in Flagstaff, I was only a couple hours away in either direction from some of my favorite bass fishing lakes and only minutes away from the local lakes, forest and mountains.
I have aunts, uncles, and many cousins and friends that have lived in Page, AZ, so growing up I spent summer vacations visiting Page and Lake Powell. I have been visiting, fishing and boating on Lake Powell ever since.
I am married to my wonderful wife Karrin and have three kids, Samantha, Jakob, and Michael. My family shares the same love for the water and outdoors as I do, so we spend the majority of our free time fishing, camping, and hunting. Raising my family with the love and respect of the great outdoors follows a tradition that has been handed down to me from my parents and grandparents.
Now, I have a great opportunity to join my brother and good friend to do what I love, spend more time outside and on the water at Lake Powell. I am positive that we can provide a great and memorable day on beautiful Lake Powell for you and your friends and family.
